I was talking to Sue over the weekend and she gave me a great idea for music at the reception. Kevin and I plan to hire a DJ who is willing to play music we select ourselves, and none of that other foofy, cheesy, hurts-to-listen-to music you sometimes hear played at wedding receptions. We are very anti-Chicken Dance/Electric Slide, etc. Ew. Sue said that when we send out invitations, on the RSVP card we should ask each guest to request a song or two that they would like to hear played at the reception. This way, we'll still have a wide variety of music to suit everyone's tastes. I've already started on the list of music Kevin and I would like, but I welcome any and all suggestions.
